Chad began rowing in college as student athlete for UC Davis. Years later, he rowed competitively in the masters division for River City Rowing Club. Chad became Assistant Coach at Sacramento State University and Stanford then eventually found his way to the position of Head Coach at Junipero Serra High School. Chad has since moved north to the rainy state of Washington and is now eager to lead the vikings as Head Coach.
Head Novice Coach
Nick Jensen has been active in the Northwest rowing community for the last 11 years. He started rowing in middle school at Green Lake Crew in Seattle, WA and has been in love with it ever since. He has competed internationally, as well as multiple times on the national stage, both as a junior and a collegiate rower here at Western. Nick believes in attempting to instill resilience, hope, community, and empathy into his athletes through effective communication, as well as a rigorous training regimen. This is Nick’s first full year as a head coach, and he is very eager to compete on a high level.
Henry graduated Western Washington University in 2017, with a degree in mathematics, after rowing with the team for two years. Originally from California, Henry is a invaluable addition to the team and rules the novices with an iron fist and a silver tongue. Outside of coaching, Henry enjoys baking and photography.
